Dear Ms. Sabato and Ms. Saadat:
This is a letter of commendation for Ms. Andi Anderson, who from October 2005 through March 2007, was the primary attendant providing excellent care to my beloved father… who passed away just recently on March 25th.
My father suffered a stroke in September 2006 and was admitted to Cedar Manor later that same month. My mother and I did not know what to anticipate or expect. You try to put aside any misgivings you might have and hope for the best.
We were enormously blessed to have Andi Anderson as his primary aide at Cedar Manor. She was caring, gentle and genteel, and respectful to my father who, although wheelchair-bound, was still a human being with a strong and vital mind for the most part. She always spoke to him with respect which was a way of honoring him as the man he was. Daddy liked her, too, and even missed her on her days off, often asking Andi: Where were you yesterday?” I know they developed their own relationship shorthand - she got “him”, and was always willing to go the extra mile on his behalf. It was obvious that she truly cared.
My mother and I became (along with my Dad) very, very fond of her and I often teased Daddy that he had another “daughter.” In fact, I consider Andi my “sister-in-spirit,” and I will never forget that she made time to attend my Dad’s Homegoing service. We were honored that she was present.
In short, I wanted you to know how grateful my mother and I am to know that my father was well-tended by Andi Anderson. She is a lovely, loving and very kind woman, and I believe, with my whole heart, that the relationship we developed with Andi will endure…after all, she’s now family.
Sincerely,
D.L.M.
